The founding of the Cosack company dates back to the end of the 19th century (1848). At that time, it was still known as Metallwarenfabrik Tapp & Cosack. It was founded by the brothers Egon, Friedrich, and Theodor Cosack together with Gottliebe Tappe. At the time, it specialized mainly in metal parts such as nails and ceremonial items such as crosses. Later, with the commercialization of the electric lamp, it also began producing modern lamps.
The Cosack company went bankrupt in 1984 but acquired 15 iF Design awards over the years for numerous iconic design lamps. Specs:
