Product description
The Cosack Model 7675 table lamp is a characteristic design of German Mid-Century design, combining sculptural form with functional elegance. With its curved brass arm, the flat, seemingly floating lampshade, and the compact round base, it embodies the clear design language of the 1950s while also making a striking design statement. The example offered here features the rare and particularly attractive finish with black matte wrinkle finish on the shade and base. The textured surface creates a beautiful contrast to the warm glow of the brass arm and gives the lamp its high-quality, period-typical appearance. The generously proportioned lampshade is infinitely adjustable in inclination, allowing the light to be flexibly directed – ideal as a desk lamp, reading lamp, or stylish accent lighting on sideboards and end tables. The lamp is conveniently switched on via the switch on the cable. The electrics are in perfect working order. The lamp is overall in good vintage condition with age-appropriate signs of wear and light patina, which underline the authentic character of the original. The lamp was manufactured by Gebrüder Cosack, one of the most important German lighting manufacturers of the 20th century. The company was founded in Neheim-Hüsten in 1848 and developed into a formative representative of German lighting design, especially in the post-war period. Cosack was known for combining high-quality workmanship, innovative design, and technical quality, and received several prestigious design awards throughout its company history. The design of Model 7675 is attributed to the designer Karl-Heinz Kinsky, whose works for Cosack are characterized by organic lines and an elegant combination of function and sculptural quality. The model series is now one of the sought-after designs of German post-war modernism and was already awarded the iF Design Award in 1956.
