Was born on April 5, 1965, in Saigon, Vietnam. At the age of 15, he fled communist-conquered South Vietnam with a few family members and over a hundred other Vietnamese.
CREATIVE TALENT
After graduating from the “Constantijn Huygens” University of the Arts in Kampen, Minh used his creative talent to visualize other people's stories on commission. Within that framework, his technique refined.
An incurable disease forced him to adapt his way of working. When the end of his life story suddenly drew near, a strong urge arose to first visualize that story—not as an illustrator, not as he had always worked, but from life itself: the flowers, the garden, nature, memory, that which was his life.
The limitations imposed by the disease became opportunities to discover a new way of working. At the drawing board was not possible, but standing at the easel was.
NEW PLAYFULNESS
And later, he carried his sketchbook with him everywhere. Gardening might no longer be possible, but capturing the abundance in color and form was all the more so. A new playfulness emerged, resulting in the painting of household items.
