Oak console table with Shou Sugi Ban finish. Composed of old elements. The finish is Shou Sugi Ban, the Japanese technique in which wood is charred to harden and preserve it. A technique with centuries-old roots that is now central again in the wabi-sabi interior. The size and charring, combined with the turned bobbin legs, give the table a sculptural quality.
Wear and patina consistent with age. Minor scratches and dents. The charred surface may leave slight residue in areas that aren't regularly handled, such as underneath the drawers or tabletop.
