The piece of furniture shown is a striking console table made of reddish-brown marble with vibrant veining and a polished surface.
The tabletop is elongated and octagonal, with beveled ends. It rests on two column-like, solid-looking supports, whose octagonal base and baroque design evoke classical architectural forms.
Each support has a centrally recessed wooden panel on the back, which provides stability and simplifies assembly. The interplay between its solid presence and graphic lines is particularly striking, lending the piece an almost sculptural quality.
A small label on the underside of the tabletop displays a stylized P logo with a chalice or goblet motif.
Stylistically, this piece of furniture can be categorized within the context of Italian Postmodernism or Neoclassicism, likely originating in the 1980s, a time when marble consoles with an architectural flair were highly sought after – both in private homes and in prestigious reception areas.
