Product description
Cone-shaped wall lamp by Hans-Agne Jakobsson for Markaryd, Sweden, 1960s
This elegant wall lamp was designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and produced by his company, Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB Markaryd, in Sweden during the 1960s. The design beautifully combines a sculptural white acrylic shade with a slender wooden wall mount, reflecting Jakobsson’s refined approach to Scandinavian lighting.
The distinctive cone-shaped shade widens towards the top and is supported by the vertical wooden backplate. Its organic outline is complemented by an elegant teardrop-shaped opening at the top of the mount. The contrast between the warm wood and the soft white shade gives the lamp a light, balanced and graphic appearance.
When illuminated, the shade diffuses the light and creates a warm, atmospheric glow both outwards and upwards along the wall. Still retaining its original label, this is a rare and highly decorative example of Swedish mid-century lighting.
