There are decors that are immediately recognizable. Damier Rouge is one of them, with its cream-colored earthenware, the deep red of the checkerboard pattern, a few touches of blue, stylized flowers, and a succession of small friezes that seem borrowed from the dressers of old country houses. This very beautiful coffee set belongs to one of the collections that have become emblematic of Comptoir de Famille, a French company founded in the early 1990s with a unique idea: to rediscover, through everyday objects, the atmosphere and emotions of homes of yesteryear. Documented pieces can be traced back to 2001. More than twenty years after its first documented appearances, Damier Rouge is still present in the home decor world. A remarkable longevity for a tableware set. Our ensemble includes its large covered coffee pot, the centerpiece of the set, accompanied by eight cups and their eight matching saucers, totaling 17 pieces. The coffee pot is particularly well-designed: its generously rounded silhouette is extended by a long pouring spout and an angular handle, while its lid is punctuated by a small red knob that echoes the decor. The earthenware pieces have retained their beautiful luster and the decorations all their freshness. The Comptoir de Famille signature found on the underside of the pieces naturally confirms their origin. Just imagine it on a large wooden table, a linen tablecloth, some toast, warm croissants, and the coffee pot at the center.
