Product description
This postmodern coffee table was made by Compar, an Italian furniture manufacturer based in the Venice region, known for combining lacquered wood with genuine Murano glass details. The high-gloss white lacquered top is split into two rectangular sections, framing a central inlay of striped Murano glass in black and white with accents of gold, red and blue. The glass is identified by the original Vetro Artistico Murano trademark seal, confirming it was produced on the island of Murano rather than as an imitation. The table rests on a chrome-plated steel base with a tiered, open-frame structure, a design typical of Italian furniture from the late 20th century. The table is in good vintage condition, with the Murano glass detail intact and the lacquered surfaces showing only minor signs of age consistent with normal use. A distinctive piece for collectors of Italian design and Murano glass, and a strong focal point in a postmodern or eclectic interior.
