Private sellerProduct description
Antique baroque/rococo style Chest of drawers (Charles III / Louis XV style), a true jewel of 18th-century cabinetmaking. A piece with exceptional character and patina, ideal for collectors, antique dealers, or high-end decoration projects.
• Design: Elegant curved "bombé" or bulging front with a very pronounced serpentine profile.
• Material: Exquisite marquetry and root wood veneer (walnut/olive) with beautiful natural grain and symmetrical patterns.
• Layout: 5 functional drawers (two small upper and three large lower).
• Details: Period hardware and handles in cast and chiselled bronze. Stylized cabriole legs with a cut-out lower apron.
The wooden structure and veneer are in good general condition for their age. Details to consider for its perfect restoration: one of the bronze keyholes is missing, one lock is missing, it does not include the original key, and some internal locks are loose (easily repairable). Logical wear and tear over time that guarantees its authenticity. Some cured woodworm marks.
Measurements: 81 cm x 42 cm x 80 cm.
