Sculpture made of mixed media wood and synthetic resin, a durable natural hard material that makes wood harder and gives it a petrified character.

After 4 years of WIK (Artist Income Benefit Act) in Maastricht, the Netherlands, Chantalle Smeets has been active as a professional artist for 20 years. Together with Martiene Stevens (her partner and also an artist), they manage Kunsthuis Trobar Riemst (B). Chantalle Smeets has developed her own unique style, which becomes visible in her sculptures of bronze, stone, ceramic and wood. Her source of inspiration is nature. She has exhibited at various galleries and castles (including sculpture gardens) in the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain and her sculptures travel throughout Europe, America and the Canary Islands.
