About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
Pair of "Colombo" model 626 floor lamps, designed by Joe Colombo for Oluce in 1970. A true icon of Italian design, this model is among the first domestic lamps designed to utilize halogen technology, which was revolutionary at the time, marking an important milestone in the history of contemporary lighting. Each floor lamp consists of a lacquered steel base, a slender chrome-plated stem, and a lacquered aluminum reflector, adjustable in direction and height via a sliding system. The light, direct or indirect depending on the orientation of the head, is complemented by a dimmer switch, combining functionality and minimalist elegance. With its clean lines and resolutely futuristic aesthetic, the model 626 has become a classic of 20th-century Italian design.
