This beautiful coffee service is the iconic “Colmar” model, produced by the famous French earthenware factory Faïencerie de Longchamp. The service originally dates from the 1930s (Art Deco period) and became very popular again in the 1960s and 70s thanks to its timeless, warm appearance. Now it is a highly sought-after service icon that will certainly grace the coffee table. The service immediately stands out due to its relief. It features a tactile raised grid pattern (waffle structure) of beige-cream squares on a deep brown background. The combination of deep chocolate brown (treacle glaze) with soft cream-yellow tones is typical of both late Art Deco and later mid-century retro styles. The service consists of a coffee pot, matching sugar bowl and milk jug, and 12 cups and saucers. The manufacturer is Longchamp (France). Most pieces are signed (see photos). The material is high-quality earthenware with a glossy glaze. All parts are in perfect condition, except for a small chip on the mouth of the spout.
