She created the floor light for her own villa E-1027 on the French Côte d’Azur. It was a radical idea for its time: no one had ever used a light tube in this way. Instead of hiding the light source behind a shade, Gray made it the focal point. A round base, a slender steel rod, and a horizontal light tube together form a minimalist whole. The Tube Light is considered an icon of modernism and is included in museum collections worldwide, including the MoMA. The German company ClassiCon produces the lamp under license. This version features a glass LED light tube that provides a soft, even, and warm light. The lamp is continuously dimmable with a push button in the base, which also remembers the last selected light intensity. The frame is made of chromed tubular steel and the base plate of metal. Thanks to the LED source, the lamp is energy-efficient. The ClassiCon Tube Light LED fits next to an armchair, sofa, or bed, and in a modern or classic interior.
