Product description
You rarely come across this German-made Hermle string regulator. This is because it is equipped with a full annual calendar featuring Dutch text.
A Hermle string regulator is housed in the large solid oak case, featuring wood carvings on the top. In addition to the hour and second hands indicating the time on the white dial featuring Roman numerals, the white dial has three sub-dials.
These three extra dials display the following calendar functions:
• Left sub-dial: The current date of the month (numbers 1 through 31).
• Right sub-dial: The month of the year (abbreviated in Dutch).
• Bottom sub-dial: The day of the week (written in Dutch: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
It is equipped with an 8-day pendulum movement, in which the weights do not hang from chains but from strings running over pulleys.
The accompanying crank key is included. This allows the clock to be wound once a week.
Every half hour, the clock chimes with a single strike on the ring gong. On the hour, it strikes the number of strokes corresponding to that hour.
The clock comes from the clockmaker after a service, so I can pass on the one-year warranty to the new owner.
