Wow! With its surprising shapes, the Citrus Saker is a real eye-catcher. is known for his unique objects made of acrylic resin, fiberglass, and polyurethane. From bookcases to toilet roll holders, power outlets to tables. And all in the most delightful colors. The Citrus Saker will steal the show during Dutch Design Week x Whoppah and will therefore only be available after October 31st.
studied at the Utrecht University of the Arts (HKU) and graduated cum laude in 2018. He lives and works in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
In his daily practice, he explores the relationship between form and function. The result is a series of colorful objects in vibrant shapes. Organic, yet contrasting with nature due to the chosen materials.
In his work, he seeks ways to let chance lead. Unpredictable forms make the work recognizable, which is why shape choices are made quickly. The form emerges in a fleeting and reactive manner through cutting and sawing in polyurethane foam. Next, he fixes the object using fiberglass and acrylic composite.
The process has no preconceived framework; the form continuously responds to the object's progress. The form leads, not an underlying concept. Through this, he aims to create accessibility in the work: when you look at it, you are not hindered by frameworks or knowledge, but are invited to look openly and leave room for your own interpretation.
