C2" chair by WILLY RIZZO, CIDUE edition, 1970s. Structures in chrome-plated steel, high-quality cognac brown "saddle-stitched" harness leather. Very comfortable, sprung seat (seat height: 42 cm). In good condition, leather slightly worn due to use and time. One cap is missing. Discoloration in the leather. The works of designer Willy Rizzo are luxurious, pricey, distributed worldwide since the 1970s, and still for sale today: Sequoia, Flaminia, Cassia, Florentinia, Parallel line. See Biography: The Italian artist Willy Rizzo (1928-2013) made a name for himself as a photographer in the 1960s; in the 1970s, he developed a passion for interior design and launched a second successful career as a designer of luxury furniture. Born in Naples in 1928, he began his career as a journalist in the 1940s, where he was hired by France Dimanche to portray wealthy and famous personalities at events such as the Film Festival. of Cannes, and thus opened the doors to royalty and dignitaries. He photographed dozens of stars: Brigitte Bardot, Maria Callas, Salvador Dalí, Marlene Dietrich, Jane Fonda, Gene Kelly, and Gregory Peck. He also befriended figures such as Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, and Jack Nicholson. In 1962, he captured some of Marilyn Monroe's final moments. In 1968, Willy Rizzo began his career as a furniture designer in Rome. Initially for simple personal use, Willy Rizzo created a series of unique pieces inspired by modernist icons such as Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier. He acquired an international reputation as a designer for the rich and famous. The team has 150 employees, stores in France and throughout Europe, in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. The furniture will be primarily manufactured by Cidue and Mario Sabot, notably tables, shelves, chairs, lamps, consoles, chests of drawers...
