A “Cidonio” table designed by Antonia Astori for Driade in the 1970s, characterised by a large circular transparent glass top supported by a cylindrical metal base. The design is based on an essential and rigorous geometry, in which the transparency of the top leaves the central structure fully visible. The base consists of a central cylindrical volume set on a wide circular floor plate, both finished in the same metal surface. The undecorated glass top visually lightens the structure and creates a clear contrast between the transparency of the horizontal surface and the solid presence of the central support. The circular shape of the top echoes that of the base, creating a particularly balanced composition built around the repetition of a few simple geometric elements. The restraint of the design and the combination of glass and metal give the table a strongly architectural character, consistent with Antonia Astori’s work for Driade during the 1970s. Condition: Good overall condition, some marks on the base and glass. Dimensions: Diameter 145 cm - Height 71 cm Ref.: T0635
