Product description
Set of Chrome Table Lamps by Motoko Ishii for Staff Leuchten, Germany, 1970s
This rare set of two table lamps was designed by the renowned Japanese designer Motoko Ishii for Staff Leuchten in the 1970s. Each lamp features a polished chrome cylindrical body with distinct proportions that reflect Ishii’s signature blend of minimalism and futurism. The highly reflective surface interacts beautifully with light, giving the pieces a sculptural and architectural presence even when switched off.
Fully rewired and ready for use, these lamps combine functional performance with striking visual impact. When displayed together as a pair, they create a powerful symmetry that perfectly captures the spirit of 1970s modernism — sleek, bold, and refined. Their timeless form makes them suitable for both contemporary and mid-century interiors alike.
Staff Leuchten, founded in 1945 in Germany by Alfred Staff and Otto Ballerstedt, was internationally celebrated for its technical precision and collaborations with leading designers such as Motoko Ishii. These table lamps exemplify the brand’s dedication to quality and innovation, representing a perfect union of Japanese design sensibility and German engineering.
