Product description
The table features a rectangular wooden top, covered with an etched brass plate, resting on a black lacquered metal base with a central brass detail. The contrast between the warm brass surface and the dark, architectural base gives the piece of furniture a strong, low, and refined appearance.
The abstract etched pattern on the brass surface gradually reveals itself depending on the angle and the light. The decoration is not immediately graphic, but rather atmospheric, and gradually shifts between reflection, patina, and engraved lines as one moves around the table. This gives the piece of furniture an understated yet very distinctive character.
The tabletop is signed.
Christian Heckscher is known for his characteristic brass furniture, in which he often combines polished or patinated metal surfaces with abstract etched compositions. This coffee table is a fine example of his expressive approach to material, surface, and reflection.
