Figure, Okimono (1) - White copper and gold with signed wooden box - Chosa Yoshiyuki - The Arctic fox - Japan - Shōwa period (1926-1989) Chosa Yoshiyuki（1915-2002） Arctic fox sculpture, with landscape carving, white copper, gold coated. Lively sculpture, Signed on the statue, with signed box. Weight 3400g Size box: 20.8×25.5×8 cm Condition : In very good condition. The box has been repairded and needs slightly more pressure to close. Please see images. Artist: Chosa Yoshiyuki (1915-2002) is a Japanese national treasure artist. Born in Kagoshima, Yoshiyuki began to study art in 1930. In 1942, he was selected to "Shinbunten" and in 1955, he became a judge of "Nitten", the largest art exhibition in Japan. Since then, he has won numerous awards and is called "National Treasure Artist" by Japan. Died in 2002! Worth collecting! Will be very securely packed. Shipping costs include packing.
