Product description
Extremely rare and historic duo of bar mugs
in heavy molded glass (25 cl tasting format),
showcasing the advertising face-off between the
two Belgian brewing giants.
Archival details allow for indisputable
confirmation of their precise dating:
• The Jupiler Urtyp mug dates exactly from 1963-1965.
The Urtyp was created in 1959 by the Piedbœuf brewery
in Jupille-sur-Meuse. This variant of
mug with a straight handle and fine golden borders was
released as an absolute precursor to the Jupiler "5"
(which replaced it in September 1966). The crest
features the original black bull on a gold background.
• The Stella Artois mug dates exactly from 1964-1967.
It features on the front the extremely rare screen print
gilded with fine gold of the famous compass (or eight-pointed
star) centered on the stylized capital letter
"A". This high-end logo from the Artois brewery
in Louvain (Leuven) marked the bar editions of
the second half of the 1960s.
Each structure includes an open geometric handle,
a regulatory "25 cl" gauge engraved in the mass
and a heavy circular base. An elite and certified set,
essential for a demanding collector.
