About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
For sale: An impressive and atmospheric oil painting on canvas, depicting a young Chinese woman playing the traditional dizi (bamboo flute). The work is skillfully crafted in the recognizable, romantic-realistic style of the world-renowned Chinese master Chen Yifei (1946–2005). The detailed depiction of the finely embroidered court attire contrasts beautifully with the deep, dark background, creating a serene and mysterious ambiance.
Frame & lighting:
The artwork is housed in a heavy, highly decorative wooden frame in Chinoiserie style, finished in classic black and gold with beautiful corner ornaments. At the top, the frame is equipped with functional, built-in brass picture lighting (including wiring at the back), allowing the painting to be beautifully showcased even in the evening.
Details & condition:
• Technique: Oil on canvas (canvas mounted on a wooden stretcher).
• Dimensions: Total size including frame is approx. 110 x 79 cm (canvas size marked as 24 x 36 inches / approx. 91 x 61 cm).
• Back: Features a handwritten Chinese marking (“西体”) and a production number stamp on the frame.
• Canvas condition: In very good, clean condition without visible craquelure or damage to the paint layer.
• Frame condition: In good used condition. There is a small spot with plaster/lacquer loss on the corner of the frame (see detail photo), which can be easily touched up or contributes to its authentic character.
A monumental and decorative piece that immediately adds an exclusive oriental atmosphere to any classic or modern interior.
