About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
Beautiful Chinese camphor wood blanket chest with deeply carved relief of junks (sailing ships) in a river landscape on both the front and the lid. The chest features an authentic brass clasp, characteristic of these export chests. Inside there is a loose storage tray (till) and the light wood types are consistent with camphor wood. A unique detail is the stamp of Amsterdam Customs with the date July 31, 1962, inside the lid, along with handwritten notes, confirming that the chest was imported in 1962 and fits the style well. The dimensions are approximately 100 cm wide, 50 cm deep, and 60 cm high.
