This antique English chest of drawers dates from the Regency period, circa 1810. The piece of furniture is characterized by a classic silhouette and the rich, warm appearance of the mahogany wood, making it a timeless addition to various interiors.
The cabinet is crafted from mahogany and features five drawers: two smaller drawers at the top and three wide drawers below. The drawers are fitted with decorative brass hardware featuring a floral motif and keyholes. The striking wood grain, also known as 'flame mahogany', is clearly visible on the fronts and the top. The cabinet rests on elegant, flared legs, typical of the style of this period. A purchase receipt from Van der Steen Antiquairs from 2012 is available, confirming its provenance and dating.
The chest of drawers is in good, antique condition. Over the years, the wood has developed a beautiful patina, which contributes to the authentic character of the furniture. The construction is sturdy and the drawers function properly. This piece of furniture comes into its own perfectly in a classic or eclectic interior.
