The ceramic vase with a handle was made in the 1960s in Denmark.
A striking artistic ceramic vase with a very interesting, organic character. The vessel has a compact, solid form with a decorative handle and a slightly irregular rim, which highlights its handcrafted nature. The upper part is covered in a striking, light glaze in shades of cream and beige with speckles, which flows down the body, creating a dynamic, almost ‘lava-like’ edge. The lower part is dark, with a rough texture in deep brown/black – the contrast of textures and colours is what makes the whole effect here. It is an item that fits perfectly into mid-century modern, loft, wabi-sabi and boho interiors, but also works as a striking detail in minimalist arrangements. It looks beautiful on its own, as a sculptural accent on a chest of drawers or a bookcase, but it also works well as a vase for branches or dried flowers. A highly decorative piece of vintage ceramics – a striking form, excellent texture and beautiful glaze.
