Product description
Glazed ceramic wall tile created by Roland Zobel ( ) for his Les Cyclades studio in Anduze. This composition depicts a stylized fish with a naive and expressive design, characteristic of the ceramist's poetic world. The glazes in shades of green, beige, brown, and red offer beautiful depth and highlight the delicately sculpted relief of the design. The piece perfectly illustrates Roland Zobel's artistic language, whose creations are inspired by an imaginary bestiary populated by fish, birds, and suns, crafted in a free, colorful, and immediately recognizable aesthetic. Trained at the Bourges School of Fine Arts and then at the International School of Ceramics in Faenza, Italy, Zobel developed a unique body of work in his Cévennes workshop starting in the 1950s, which is now sought after by collectors. This tile can be displayed alone as a wall art piece or integrated into a composition of several tiles. Vintage. Dimensions: 22x22cm
