Rectangular enameled ceramic catchall signed Robert Picault on the base. The piece features a hand-painted geometric design composed of triangular motifs and stylized bands, in a characteristic palette of greens and browns on a light background. This type of graphic composition is emblematic of Robert Picault's work, an important figure in post-war French ceramics. Settled in Vallauris from the late 1940s, the ceramist developed a personal decorative language blending repetitive motifs, bold colors, and designs inspired by Mediterranean art.
