The ceramic candleholder was made in the 1960s in Denmark.
A striking ceramic candleholder in the form of a low, openwork lantern, reflecting the aesthetic of decorative ceramics from the 1960s and 1970s. The lower section has a dark, rough texture in a deep brown shade, whilst the upper section is covered in an intense red glaze with a decorative relief pattern of regular, geometric mesh. The openwork cut-outs beautifully allow light to pass through – when the candle is lit, they create a pleasant, atmospheric effect and add warmth to the interior. It is the perfect accessory for mid-century modern, retro and loft interiors, but also for eclectic arrangements where striking details make all the difference. It will look great on a table, chest of drawers or as part of a display featuring vintage glass and ceramics. A very atmospheric vintage piece – decorative both by day and in the evening when it glows with light.
