Product description
Here is a ceramic bowl by the French artist Gabrielle Mackiewicz, dating from the 1960s. This piece stands out for its organic and asymmetrical silhouette, characteristic of the revival of post-war French ceramics.
Made in France, this bowl rests on a flared foot and features a distinctive slender handle. The terracotta surface is adorned with a cloisonné enamel decoration, a graphic and vegetal motif that testifies to the influence of her master, Roger Capron. The color palette combines shades of green, dusty pink, and black, creating a striking contrast with the terracotta base.
The work is in good general condition, retaining its original lid and the artist's signature "GM" under the base. The patina developed over time is consistent with its age and history, adding to the authentic character of the piece.
As a sculptural centerpiece, this Mackiewicz bowl fits perfectly into a Mid-Century Modern or eclectic interior. It is an excellent addition for collectors of Vallauris ceramics and French design from the 50s and 60s.
