Product description
Cees Braakman / Pastoe — two vintage Armchairs, 1950s Set of two vintage Armchairs, attributed to Cees Braakman for Pastoe. Warm wood and black upholstery form a clear contrast, with an open construction and a distinct graphic side profile. The slightly reclining backrest extends forward at the bottom and remains free from the separate seat. Rounded wooden armrests soften the angled lines of the base. Two visible slotted screws on either side connect the back to the frame; a continuous row of dark upholstery nails accentuates the contour at the rear. The wood shows local patina and discoloration, with visible signs of wear on the armrests and legs. The black upholstery and metal details also show signs of age and use. The photos show the condition of both chairs in detail. A cohesive pair for a dining table, as office chairs, or freestanding in an interior. Details Attributed to: Cees Braakman for Pastoe Period: 1950s Origin: Netherlands Materials: wooden frame, black upholstery and metal fixings H 78.5 × W 61 × D 50.5 cm
