Product description
A set of five folding chairs, designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli in 1967. This design is an icon of Italian industrial design, known for its functionality and elegant simplicity. The Plia chair is praised for its revolutionary hinge system and is included in the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York.
These chairs are made with a chrome-plated steel frame and a white plastic seat and backrest. The distinctive design is based on a three-disc hinge, allowing the chair to be folded flat to a thickness of only a few centimeters. This makes them exceptionally space-saving and versatile in use. The chairs were produced in Italy and bear the stamps of Castelli and Plia.
The overall condition of the set is reasonably good, in accordance with its age and use. The chairs retain their original finish and structural integrity, contributing to their authentic vintage character. The combination of shiny chrome and bright white gives a timeless look.
This set of Plia chairs is a flexible seating solution for various spaces, such as a dining room, office, or studio. They seamlessly fit into interiors with a Mid-Century Modern, minimalist, or Italian design aesthetic and immediately offer extra seating with a classic style.
