About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This dining set comprises a table and four chairs, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and produced by Cassina. The design is characterized by its geometric structure and the use of black-stained wood, distinctive elements of the Scottish architect's style.
The table, model DS3, features an oval top that can be folded thanks to its drop leaves, supported by a base of crossed slats that form a three-dimensional grid. The four chairs, model DS1, share the same visual language with lattice backs and woven rope seats. The set is made of black-stained wood, offering a striking contrast with the natural tone of the seats.
The overall condition of the set reflects its use over time, preserving its structural integrity and original character. The wood shows signs of wear that attest to its history, while the rope seats remain functional.
This set is ideal for dining rooms seeking to incorporate pieces with a strong historical and architectural significance. Its timeless design allows it to be integrated into both classic interiors and contemporary spaces that value early 20th-century design.
