A Floyd Armchair by the Dutch design brand Palau, designed by Björn Mulder. The Floyd is a lounge armchair with an upholstered shell whose back slopes down in a single flowing line to the low armrests, defined by double stitching. It is a model that is equally at home in a living room as in a waiting area, reception, or meeting corner; Palau developed it specifically for both applications.
The shell rests on a white, swivel four-legged base, allowing the armchair to rotate fully on its axis so that you can easily move along with a conversation or the view. The base is a factory version: Palau supplies it as standard in white, black, and aluminum.
A special feature of this piece is the two-tone finish. The shell is upholstered in a petrol blue wool fabric with a lively, mottled texture; the loose seat cushion is finished in a contrasting light gray. This is not an improvisation but a factory option from Palau, allowing the seat cushion to be ordered in a contrasting fabric. Furthermore, the seat cushion has a removable cover, which makes cleaning considerably easier than with a fixed upholstered seat.
The Palau brand label is present on the edge of the shell. The armchair is in good condition with minor signs of use: the upholstery is clean and not worn out, without tears, and the base rotates smoothly.
