A Floyd Armchair from the Dutch design brand Palau, designed by Björn Mulder. The Floyd is a lounge armchair with an upholstered shell whose back flows in one smooth line to the low armrests, accentuated with double stitching. It is a model that is equally at home in a living room as in a waiting area, reception or meeting corner; Palau explicitly developed it for both applications.
The shell stands on a swivel four-star base in white, allowing the armchair to rotate completely on its axis and easily move with a conversation or the view. The base is a factory version: Palau supplies it standard in white, black and aluminum color.
A special feature of this item is its two-tone design. The shell is upholstered in a petrol blue wool fabric with a lively, mottled structure; the loose seat cushion is executed in a contrasting light grey. This is not an improvisation but a factory option from Palau, where the seat cushion could be ordered in a different fabric. The seat cushion also has a removable cover, which makes cleaning significantly easier than with a fixed upholstered seat.
Palau's brand label is present on the edge of the shell. The armchair is in good condition with minor signs of wear: the upholstery is clean and not sagged, without tears, and the base rotates smoothly.
