About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
Beautiful work from 1972, bright flowers that bring color into your home.
The work is protected behind glass and the sturdy, top-quality frame gives it extra cachet. His paintings are an ode to the beauty of everyday life.
Carlos Blaaker is a sculptor, painter, and photographer born in Suriname and living on Curacao. Viewed from a distance, his paintings appear to be very true-to-life representations of his immediate surroundings. But the closer you get to the canvases, the clearer it becomes that the artist has applied his paint in bold, wide strokes. The wealth of warm colors has been replaced by a bright color palette.
He paints everyday reality, the places in public space where the human hand can clearly be recognized. In his work he lifts trivial elements to a higher level.
