Forged red tombac copper candlestick, designed and executed by Jan Koldeweij, ornamental blacksmith in Voorburg, circa 1940-1944. Koldeweij (1923-2017) apprenticed with Jan Kriege of Woerden during the war years. This hammered tombac candlestick is clearly crafted in his style and technique.
The cup-shaped drip tray contains a separate, removable bowl to support a candle and catch dripping wax.
Candlestick height 51.5 cm; without pin 44.5 cm; bowl diameter 13 cm, base at widest point 18 cm.
