About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
With his unique style, Armand Campi evokes an atmosphere reminiscent of old masters such as Turner, Goya, and Moreau. Paintings in colors that breathe a Latin spirit, a sensual world of moving women in interiors with pleasantly warm light. Campi's canvases always show the drive, the undiluted passion, and the unadulterated painter's urge. His work radiates immense tranquility. Beautiful female figures, also in groups, and as you look, you discover more and more of them, integrated into a backdrop of street walls, doors, and windows that are actually barely indicated. Looking at Campi's work is special. It is an event; very slowly and subtly, the canvas begins to live. The paintings are alternately subdued and explosive, plastic and enigmatic. Campi's abstract expressionist painting style has resulted in a richly varied oeuvre that is hard to pin down and opens up many possibilities for very personal experiences. A Frenchman born in Vichy in 1942, raised in Havana, Cuba, returned to Europe via Spain to France, and then worked for forty years in the Netherlands. His works are included in private collections in New York, London, Paris, Hong Kong, and all over the world. Well-known paintings include Spanish Morning and Soiree Musicale. Delivery possible, costs depend on the distance. For shipping, the (to be determined) shipping costs are for the buyer.
