Italian work, c.1965 H 66 x W 200 x D 80 cm Beech, foam and white bouclé fabric Very good condition Openwork structure in beech slats, seat and back upholstered in white bouclé, with no visible mechanism. Designed by Sottsass for Poltronova and published in Domus magazine as early as 1965, this sofa predates the founding of the Memphis group by fifteen years — it shows a Sottsass already attentive to free forms, before the graphic vocabulary that would make him famous. Can serve as a sofa, bench or extra bed depending on the arrangement of the cushions.
