Product description
Large wall plate signed Buxo, Spanish handcrafted production, Catalonia, 1960s-70s. A workshop piece entirely handmade in red clay, decorated with a modernist female nude painted with a brush against a crackled celadon green background. Thick, raised glazes applied by hand create a play of texture and depth typical of Catalan art ceramic workshops of the period. Every irregularity in the glaze and nuance of the firing testifies to authentic craftsmanship, far removed from industrial production. Original hanging loop on the reverse. Generous size: Ø 32 cm, height 3 cm. A striking wall display piece with a mid-century Mediterranean feel. Very good vintage condition with a patina consistent with age.
