Magnificent bust representing Emma, the heroine of Jane Austen's novel. This neoclassical style sculpture is made of alabaster and rests on a marble base, adding finesse and elegance. The work is signed by Arnaldo Giannelli and dated 1972 on the back. It was created by Arnaldo Giannelli, an Italian sculptor born in 1907 in Volterra, famous for his alabaster sculptures. He opened his workshop in 1944 and served as president of the alabaster artisans' guild from 1953 to 1961.
