Central to my paintings is: the beauty of transience, imperfection.
My inspiration is life itself. When I start painting, the basis can rest on an abstract image or on concrete observations. By going back with my imagination into the past of something or someone and then distancing myself from the existing form of the subject, it is no longer reminded of its original function. While painting, the story that arises in my mind takes over. Step by step, layer upon layer, I venture into the unknown. Curious to see where I will end up. My work never remains finished, just like life itself.
In doing so, I make use of various materials. Through the varied use of materials, I constantly encounter new challenges, new inspiration, a new experiment.
