About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This striking bronze letterbox in the style of Paul Evans is a characteristic example of Brutalist design from the 1960s and 70s. Its sculptural form and textured surface transform this functional object into a powerful architectural detail. Crafted from solid bronze, the letterbox captivates with its relief-like, organic texture in warm gold and brown tones. Weighing 1.9 kg, the piece testifies to its robust materiality and craftsmanship. The asymmetrical, flowing lines and raised elements are typical of the expressive design language of the era. The letterbox is in good vintage condition and has developed an authentic patina over the decades, further enhancing its sculptural character. The flap mechanism is intact and fully functional. This architectural element would make an excellent statement piece on a solid wood door or in an entryway influenced by Brutalist or Mid-Century Modern styles. It gives the facade an individual, artistic touch.
