The chairs are made from hand-gouged oak, which is in itself a rare and time-consuming woodcarving technique. While most manuals offer help in repairing gouges in wood, Novak has used this technique to create these rustic-looking bodies that can be considered functional sculptures. Thanks to the unique hand-carved texture, each chaise longue is one-of-a-kind, with a unique pattern. The leather seat is suspended between three legs, one of which is extended to serve as a backrest. The chair assembly technique is flawless, a testament to Novak's exceptional craftsmanship and vision. The leather straps are inserted into the legs in a way that is both raw and sophisticated.
