A sculptural Brutalist coffee table, crafted from solid oak in Central Europe, circa 1960s–1970s. The exceptionally thick tabletop is cut at an angle to the grain, revealing a dramatic and highly decorative natural grain pattern. The organic, elongated form is supported by tapered solid oak legs with exposed through-tenon joinery visible on the tabletop. The combination of traditional craftsmanship, massive solid oak construction and an expressive organic form is characteristic of Central European Brutalist and rustic modernist furniture of the period. The table has been carefully restored while preserving the natural character, grain and age-related features of the oak.
