Product description
This Brutalist coffee table is a striking example of Dutch design from the 1960s. The piece of furniture is characterized by a robust, architectural design language that perfectly captures the essence of Brutalism. The table is crafted from solid wood and finished in a deep, dark brown hue that accentuates the natural grain and texture of the material. The design consists of a heavy tabletop, constructed from thick wooden beams, resting on four solid, rectangular legs. This construction method emphasizes the weight and monumentality of the object, characteristic of the design period. The visible joints and the pure choice of materials contribute to its authentic character. The coffee table is in good, functional condition befitting its age. Over the decades, the wood has developed a rich patina, while the original finish has been preserved. The piece displays characteristic signs of use that underscore the historical value and authenticity of the design. This distinctive piece of furniture serves as a powerful centerpiece in a contemporary living space. The table comes into its own particularly well in a minimalist or industrial interior, where the dark wood offers a warm contrast against clean lines and light materials.
