A large cast aluminum door panel from the 1960s. Its design, in the Brutalist style, shows a clear influence from the sculptural metalwork associated with Paul Evans. The piece is structured around five robust vertical rods, joined by a central section of organic bridges. This contrast between the rigid linear elements and the fluid central forms creates a singular visual dynamic. The entire surface features a rough, textured patina of wear that gives great strength and power to the piece and its surroundings.
A prominent textured handle is integrated into the left side of the composition. This handle is removable via two screws, offering great versatility. While originally conceived as a functional door panel for mounting over glass, wood, or a metal door, its strong abstract and sculptural presence also allows it to be repurposed. Without the handle, the panel functions effectively as a significant work of wall art.
We have several units available, including versions with the handle on the opposite side.
