Product description
This is a bronze sculpture by the Dutch sculptor Jaap Hartman, executed in a characteristic brutalist style. The work presents an abstract, geometric composition that evokes a sense of upward movement, typical of Hartman's formal language.
The artwork is made of solid bronze with a deep, dark patina and is mounted on a robust dark granite base. The total height of the object is 25 centimeters. It was cast in the artist's own bronze foundry, Myron B.V. in Woudrichem. Its authenticity is confirmed by the artist's monogram (JM) cast in the bronze and the original foundry sticker on the underside of the base.
The overall condition of the sculpture is excellent. Both the bronze figure and the granite base are completely intact and show no damage, meaning the work has fully retained its original character and finish.
Due to its powerful, architectural appearance, this object is a striking accent in an interior with a preference for mid-century modern, minimalist or eclectic design. It comes into its own on a sideboard, console or in a bookcase.
