Belgium / 1960 / coffee table / cast iron, slate stone / Vintage / Mid-Century / Brutalist Very rare and unique coffee table made by Belgian artist Pia Manu. This exclusive table was designed in the 1960s and handmade. The table has a Brazilian slate stone top, shaped in a pattern with an abstract metal sculpture and rests a rebar steel base. The table has a very brutalist look contrasting with the slate stones subtile sparkle. A true piece of craftmanship with a perfect balance between form, function and art. Pia Manu is a workshop from Ingelmunster, Belgium. Here, amongst others, Jules Dewaele and his son Koen Dewaele designed several design pieces during the 1960s. Pia Manu is still working along similar lines, with natural materials such as stone and travertine combined with ceramics.
Small signs of use due to age and use.
