Exceptionally high-quality cabinet designed by Bruno Paul, executed in a particularly elaborate and high-quality version. The large-format body is completely covered with a strongly grained, dark brown precious wood veneer. The vertical veneer pattern determines the strictly architectural appearance of the furniture and is complemented by softly rounded sides, finely crafted profiles, and discreet metal fittings. The high craftsmanship of this execution is particularly noteworthy. The front edges and rounded transitions are not designed with applied, dark contrasting wood profiles, but are elaborately continuously veneered. This creates a much calmer and more cohesive surface than with simpler versions of this model. The cabinet system has a clearly structured, asymmetrical front with a large side cabinet compartment, a central glazed display cabinet, and several closed compartments and drawers. The different areas are functionally very differentiated. Inside, there are, among other things, light veneered compartments, glass shelves, mirrored areas, and an elaborately equipped bar or serving compartment with light, marble-like surfaces and a black-covered flap. Several original keys and fittings are present. The large-area glazing of the central section forms an elegant contrast to the dark veneer and emphasizes the representative character of the furniture. An original control slip with manufacturing and commission number has been preserved and documents the historical production. The cabinet has been professionally restored and is in very good condition.
