The vintage “High Eva” lounge chair by Bruno Mathsson, produced by Firma Karl Mathsson, is a landmark of Scandinavian Modern design and Swedish functionalism. Originally developed from Mathsson’s pioneering ergonomic studies in the 1930s, the Eva series evolved into the refined high-back “Eva hög” model introduced in the late 1940s. Crafted in bent laminated beech with woven webbing, the chair reflects Mathsson’s revolutionary approach to comfort, inspired by the natural contours of the human body. Its sculptural silhouette, light construction, and organic form made it an enduring icon of 20th-century Swedish design.
