Iconic Maralunga lounge armchair designed by Vico Magistretti for Cassina in 1973. The Maralunga is one of the most celebrated Italian seating designs and won the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award. It is known for its innovative adjustable backrest system and exceptional comfort. The backrest can be raised or lowered thanks to the patented internal mechanism, allowing for two seating positions: a relaxed lounge position with a low backrest or a higher, more supportive backrest. This piece is upholstered in warm cognac-colored leather that has developed a beautiful vintage patina over time. The generous cushions, sculptural armrests, and soft proportions give the armchair its unmistakable Maralunga character. Perfect as a prominent lounge armchair in a living room, office, or reading nook. Condition: Good vintage condition with clear signs of use and patina consistent with age. The leather shows wear, creases, and some darker areas due to use.
